Meesho Profit & Loss Calculator: The Complete Step-by-Step Guide

If you sell on Meesho, you already know the problem: your Orders report shows one number, your Payments report shows another, and neither one tells you what you actually earned after RTO (Return to Origin), cancellations, exchanges, packaging cost, and product cost.

That’s exactly why we built the Meesho P&L Calculator, a free tool on EcompnlTool that automatically reconciles your Orders and Payment files and shows you your real profit — SKU by SKU, order by order.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly how to use the tool, from downloading your files on Meesho Supplier Panel to exporting your final profit report.

Why Meesho Sellers Need a P&L Calculator

Meesho doesn’t give sellers a single dashboard that combines:

  • Order-level sale price and status (Delivered, RTO, Cancelled, Exchanged, Returned)
  • Actual payment received per order after commission and fees
  • Your own product cost per SKU
  • Packaging and other fixed costs

Without combining all of this, most sellers either overestimate their profit (by only looking at order value) or have no visibility at all into which SKUs are actually losing money because of high RTO rates. The Meesho P&L Calculator on EcompnlTool solves this by merging your Orders CSV and Payment XLSX files, matching them by order ID, and calculating true profit per order and per SKU — instantly, in your browser.

What You’ll Need Before You Start

  1. Orders Export (CSV) — from Meesho Supplier Panel → Orders → Export CSV
  2. Payment Export (XLSX) — from Meesho Supplier Panel → Payments → Download → Payment to Date. Select the order month and the next month, and download as XLSX. It’s best to upload the current and previous month’s payment files together, since Meesho payments often settle a few weeks after an order is placed.
  3. (Optional) A SKU cost sheet — an Excel/CSV file listing your SKU and your purchase/manufacturing cost for each one.

Step-by-Step: How to Use the Meesho P&L Calculator

Step 1: Upload Your Orders and Payment Files

Open the calculator and go to the Upload step.

  • Drag and drop (or click to browse) your Meesho Orders CSVs into the “Orders Files” box. You can select multiple files at once — for example, if you’re analyzing 3 months, upload all 3 monthly exports together and the tool will merge them automatically.
  • Do the same for your Payment XLSX files in the “Payment Export” box.

There’s no limit on how many files you upload at once, so you can run this for a single week or an entire quarter. Once your files are recognized, the “Set SKU Costs →” button becomes active.

Step 2: Set Your Product Cost per SKU

This is the step that makes your profit numbers accurate.

You have two options:

Option A — Import costs automatically: Upload an Excel/CSV file with a column containing “SKU” and a column containing “Cost” (column names are auto-detected). You can download a ready-made template from the tool if you don’t have one yet. Every SKU that gets a cost from this file will be highlighted in green in the table below.

Option B — Enter costs manually: Scroll through the SKU table (you can search by SKU or product name) and type your cost directly into the “Your Cost” field for each product.

Tip: If many of your products cost roughly the same to make, use the “Set all to ₹” bulk-cost box to apply one cost to every SKU in one click, then manually adjust the few that are different.

Any SKU you leave blank will fall back to the default cost you set in the next step — so this step is optional if you just want a quick estimate, but strongly recommended for accurate SKU-level profit analysis.

Step 3: Configure Your Cost Parameters

Head to the Configure step and set:

  • Default Product Cost (₹) — used as a fallback for any SKU you didn’t price in Step 2
  • Packaging Cost (₹) per item — your average per-order packaging expense (this is automatically doubled for exchange orders, since exchanges involve two shipments)
  • Misc Fixed Costs (₹/month) — labour, rent, electricity, or any other overhead you want factored into your monthly profit

These three inputs let the calculator account for real operating costs, not just Meesho’s commission and shipping deductions.

Step 4: Calculate and Review Your P&L

Click “Calculate P&L →” and the tool will instantly process every order, matching it against your payment data and applying your cost inputs. On the Results screen you’ll see:

  • KPI cards showing total revenue, total profit, delivered vs RTO vs cancelled vs returned order counts, and overall margin
  • Charts breaking down your order outcomes and profit distribution visually
  • A detailed, filterable order table so you can drill into exactly which orders and SKUs are profitable — and which ones are being eaten up by RTO and return costs
  • A pending orders section for orders that haven’t been paid out yet, so you know what’s still in the pipeline

Step 5: Export Your Report

Once you’ve reviewed your numbers, use the action buttons to:

  • Download Excel Report — a full formatted workbook you can save, share, or archive
  • Download CSV — a raw data export if you want to plug the numbers into your own spreadsheet or accounting system

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data uploaded to a server? The calculator processes your Orders and Payment files directly in your browser, so you stay in control of your data at every step.

What if I don’t have SKU costs ready yet? You can skip Step 2 entirely and just set a Default Product Cost in Step 3 — the tool will use that for every order as a quick estimate.

Why should I upload two months of Payment files together? Meesho typically pays out for an order a few weeks after it’s placed, sometimes into the following month. Uploading the current and previous month’s Payment XLSX together ensures the tool can match more orders to their actual payouts.

Can I use this for multiple months of data at once? Yes — you can select and upload multiple Orders and Payment files in one go, and the tool merges them automatically before calculating your P&L.
